Good to know

  • Koka was a centre of the Koga-ryu ninja school. Ninja houses and a ninja village show hidden doors and tricks.
  • Shigaraki is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns. Look for the tanuki statues in front of shops and pottery studios.
  • The Miho Museum, designed by I. M. Pei, is reached through a tunnel and over a bridge. Check opening seasons before you go.
