Good to know
- Nijo Castle's Ninomaru Palace has 'nightingale floors' that chirp like birds when you walk along the corridors.
- Nishiki Market is a long covered street of food stalls. Many ask you not to eat while walking, so eat at the stall.
- Pontocho is a narrow lane of restaurants by the Kamo River. In summer, some open riverside terraces called kawayuka.
