Questions travellers ask

How do I get to Miyazaki?

Flying is easiest: Miyazaki Airport has daily flights from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Okinawa. Highway buses run from Fukuoka, and buses and express trains connect Miyazaki City with Kagoshima.

What is there to see in Miyazaki?

Takachiho Gorge and its 17-meter Manai Falls, with yokagura dance at Takachiho Shrine at night; Aoshima, a small island shrine ringed by wave-shaped rocks; surf beaches along the Nichinan coast; and volcanic crater hikes on the Ebino Plateau.

What should I eat in Miyazaki?

Miyazaki beef, so good that other regions buy its calves, and summer mangoes. Try hiyajiru, a cold miso soup over rice for hot days, and sweet potato shochu.
