Good to know
- Ise Grand Shrine has two main shrines, the Outer Shrine (Geku) and the Inner Shrine (Naiku). Most pilgrims visit the Outer Shrine first, then take the bus to the Inner Shrine.
- The main shrine buildings are rebuilt every 20 years in a ceremony called Shikinen Sengu. The next one is planned for 2033.
- Try akafuku, a sweet rice cake made in Ise since 1707, in Okage Yokocho next to the Inner Shrine.
