Roppongi has long been known for its nightlife and its many foreign embassies. Since the 2000s it has also become one of Tokyo's best art districts: the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi Hills, the National Art Center and the Suntory Museum of Art in Tokyo Midtown form the so-called art triangle.
By day it is offices, galleries and cafes; after dark the area around the crossing fills with bars and clubs. Tokyo Tower is about 20 minutes' walk east. See our Minato guide for the rest of the ward.
