Good to know

  • Uzu-no-Michi is a walkway under the Onaruto Bridge, about 45 m above the sea, where you look straight down on the whirlpools. The biggest reach about 15 m across.
  • The Otsuka Museum of Art shows over 1,000 famous paintings as full-size ceramic reproductions. It is too big to see in one day, so pick your rooms.
  • Ryozen-ji is Temple 1 of the Shikoku 88-temple pilgrimage, so many pilgrims start here. At the German House, learn how Beethoven's Ninth had its Japanese premiere at a WWI prisoner camp nearby.
