Good to know

  • The sand at Kotohikihama 'sings' when you walk on it. It only works when the beach is clean, so take your rubbish home.
  • Winter is crab season. Taiza crab, landed at Taiza port, is one of Japan's most prized snow crabs.
  • Kyogamisaki, the northernmost point of the Kansai region, has a white lighthouse above the sea.
