- The Snow Festival's big sculptures are in Odori Park in early February. Book rooms months ahead.
- The Mount Moiwa ropeway is best just after sunset. Take a tram to the ropeway stop.
- Much of central Sapporo is linked by underground walkways, handy in winter.
